This Week in RUF

Fall Semester has begun!

RUF  kicked off this Fall on Wednesday night, August 25th.  We had a great time!  Check out the pictures from the night.

Joins us every Wednesday at 8:30 pm in the Paris Yates Chapel in the middle of campus (head to the Library and look for what you see in the photo at right). Remember sorority ladies, we pushed it back a half hour so you can make it after RUSH practice...you're welcome.  See below for our study this semester and plan to stay around after for "RUF after hours".

Of course, at RUF you can make plans to involve yourself in any number of things we have going on campus throughout the year: small group Bible studies, class Bible studies, Greek Bible studies, Fellowship Groups, Discussion Groups, Conferences, Mercy Ministry Teams, Servant Teams, Music Teams...the list goes on and on. There are LOTS of ways to get involved.

But, as we say all the time, the best way to serve with RUF is...BRING A FRIEND!

See you soon!

RUF Ole Miss Fall Conference 2010 is THIS Weekend!

We are leaving Friday afternoon at 1230 from the parking lot across the street from Campus Creek (Creekmore/Hawthorne) and will caravan to Alpine Camp for Boys in Mentone, AL. (We will have maps available at the parking lot in case you don't want to caravan. Remember to bring anything that you would normally bring on a camping trip: sleeping back (there are NO linens provided), towels, swimsuit, light jacket (gets cold on the mountain at night). We will be done by Sunday at 930a so you'll have plenty of time to get back for any activities you have Sunday afternoon in Oxford.

And we have some GREAT conference t-shirts this year (pictured at right) that we will have available after conference is over for only $10. There are LIMITED QUANTITIES so order one soon!

Your payment for conference is due BEFORE you go on the trip! Please help us by not making us track you down for payment for conference. The easiest way to pay is to go the pay for the conference online page. Otherwise, make a check out to "RUF Ole Miss" for $99.

Our Study This Fall

It is our custom in RUF to begin at the beginning of a book and march straight through. However, every now and then, it's helpful to take a step back and look for the big themes, the larger story arcs that make up the primary truths contained in the Scripture. And as it so happens, the Christian Church has worshipped for ages using what we call a "creed." The most widely used of those creeds is the Apostles' Creed.

This Fall, we will have a series entitled- Credo: Why Believing Matters. It will be a study using the ancient outline of the basics of Christian teaching from the traditional Apostles' Creed.
