This Week in RUF

WELCOME BURDETT FAMILY

Well, the Newsom family was host this weekend to some dear friends. When I was in seminary, I had to do an internship that I fulfilled by working with a youth group in Washington, DC. My host family became some dear friends, Bill and Mavis Burdett. Well, we have kept in touch over the last SIXTEEN years or so, and this last weekend, they were kind enough to travel down to Oxford, MS for a great visit! Bill and Mavis retired last year and have decided to do some travelling and see some friends.

Bill and Mavis were like a second set of parents to me during that summer so long ago, so it was a real treat to see them again!

This study is based upon Richard Pratt's book Designed for Dignity, which if you get interested in some great reading that goes along with our study can be found HERE.

And, for those of you who are not able to be with us, as usual, we have our meetings online here at the website by clicking here, OR you can access our podcast on iTunes by clicking here. (Note: you must have iTunes installed on your computer to follow this link.)

SO DID YOU MISS SUMMER CONFERENCE 2008?

The looks on these faces just screams, The looks on these faces just screams, "Mmmm...fish sandwich!"Because if you did, you're in luck. We have finally posted the messages from this past summer conference. This year, we had two speakers for our conference speaking on the topic of Glorification: Rev. Jack Howell is a PCA pastor from Norfolk, VA. Howard Brown is a PCA pastor in Charlotte, NC. These two men did a GREAT job during our week and I know that you would enjoy getting to hear them if you didn't make the conference.

CONGRATULATIONS NEW INTERNS

We have had quite the privilege over the last few years of being able to send quite a few students from our little world here at Ole Miss to campuses unknown via the RUF Internship. The RUF internship is a program for recent graduates looking for something to do after graduation or consindering a life in the ministry.

This year, Benton York, Mary Jane Davis, Tyler Hall, and Anna McDowell were recently approved to be our new interns. They will be assigned a campus in the next month or so, so let's be sure to be prayer for them as they begin to work through some of their initial fund raising.
