Small Groups- Spring 2010
Small groups are a vital part of what we do at RUF Ole Miss. Let me
encouage you that ANY of these groups are mostly open (other than the
gender specific ones) to anyone that wants to attend. Especially the
Greek House studies, please know that if you are in the area (before or
after a class perhaps) and want to attend one of these, you are more
than welcome. And, as always, if you have any questions about these, email Les.
Fellowship Groups
- this semester we have officially launched some informal gatherings on
Sunday nights for prayer, discussion, and mutual encouragement. For
more information about them, click here. These groups are GREAT ways to get friends together for times that really mean something.
Well, of all the things that you simply MUST know about RUF, it's that if you're going to process all the things we talk about on Wednesday nights, it's almost impossible to do that alone. So at RUF we stress very much the importance of getting plugged into a small group so that you can not only work through how the Gospel speaks into your life, but also make some friends among whom you can flesh those truths out with. Check through the list below to get a sense of what's going on with RUF's small groups and find a place to plug in!
• Freshmen- ok, freshmen...the chief end of your life is to attend freshman bible study and enjoy it forever. We meet on Tuesday afternoons from 330-430 in the top floor of the Union in the classrooms overlooking the Grove. Fall Study: What is RUF about?
• Sophomores- for the sophomores, we invite you to retreat from campus into the lovely luxurious plazas that are the Campus Creek Apartments (ahem). This year, we will be meeting in room 6133 on Thursday afternoons from 4p-5p. Fall Study: The Ten Commandments
• Juniors- our Junior study will meet at the Casa De Sally at 1701 Johnson Avenue. Click here for a map to the house. This study will meet on Wednesday afternoons from 4p-5p. Fall Study: Objections to Christianity.
• Seniors- our Senior study's location has yet to be announced (re: decided upon). But when it happens, it will be on Monday afternoons from 4p-5p. Fall Study: Leaving Ole Miss with Wisdom
• Sigma Chi- On Tuesdays at lunch (noon-1), the Sigma Chis will have a Bible study in the "nice room" of the house. Fall Study: What is Faith?
• Kappa Alpha- On Thursdays at lunch (noon-1), the Kappa Alphas will have a Bible study in the front room of the house. They are also studying "What is Faith?"
• Delta Gamma Dinner and Discussion- on Tuesday late afternoons, the DGs will meet in the chapter room for dinner and discussion (hence, the name). These studies will be on Tuesdays from 5p-6p. Fall Study: What is Faith?
• Tuesday Night Bible Study- our own Lauren Babbitt is leading a Bible study for the girls on Tuesday Nights at 7pm at Christ Presbyterian Church on "Unlikely Women in the Line of Christ."
So keep checking back as we daily add new small groups all over campus including a few in some of the Greek houses on campus. It's a GREAT way to get involved!
