RUF Spring 2010- Romans: Confronting Commonplace Christianity
A very early copy of Paul's letter to the RomansWhat do you do when you look up and suddenly realize, in a moment of honest, that you just sort of..."over" Christianity. There may have been a time in life when it moved you, perhaps due to some neediness in you at the time. But for whatever reason, thinking about God and pursuing his purposes in your life simply doesn't register with you as anything worth your effort.Paul writes the letter to the Romans as a way of encapsulating the doctrinal teaching of the entire Bible. The word he uses to sum up that teaching: GOSPEL. What is the Gospel? Why is it the good news it claims to be? How can I be right with God? These are the questions that entertained in the Spring of 2010 in RUF Ole Miss in this series Romans: Confronting Commonplace Christianity.
