Mercy Ministry Teams

Our Mercy Ministry Teams are a vital part of what we are about at Ole Miss. We are deeply convicted that the Gospel of Jesus' Grace is so dramatically transformational, that those who claim to follow Christ must themselves offer the same grace to the hurting around them.


To that end, RUF Ole Miss has the following Mercy Ministry Teams that are at work on any given day of the week across town to help minister to the needs of those around us. Sign up in the form below and someone will contact you with any necessary information about getting involved.

North Mississippi Regional Center (NMRC)
This team makes a once a week visit to the NMRC, a housing and recreational facility for physically and mentally handicapped people in the Oxford/Lafayette County area. Mary Jane Davis is the contact person for this Team.

MANNA Ministry
This team delivers meals to shut-ins all over town through the MANNA ministry out of St. Peter's Episcopal Church on Thursday afternoons. There three areas of need: cooking of meals, meal preparation, and meal delivery. Les Newsom is the contact person for this Team.

Graceland Retirement Home
This team makes a regular weekly visit to our largest city retirement home here in town and plays BINGO with the residents there. Bingo is a Wednesday afternoon event and an aboslute joy for the residents there. Doug Williams is the contact person for this team.

Leapfrog After School Program
This is an after school tudoring program hosted at St. Peter's Episcopal Church. More information about this coming.

Tutoring at Oxford Middle School
This is fairly self-explanatory. These tutoring sessions are usually once or twice a week depending on how much time you have. Kathy Presley, wife of Curt Pressley, pastor at Christ Pres here in town, is the contact person for this ministry.

Save-A-Life
This team helps with the volunteers at the Crisis Pregnancy Center here in Oxford. They help organize clothes closets and office work/cleaning. If folks want to, they offer counselor training for qualified applicants. More information about this is coming.
